Phra Khanong at a Glance
The area around Phra Khanong BTS is a residential area more than a commercial one.
It is one of the few original BTS stations that does not connect to at least one shopping mall, however neighbouring Konichiwa Gateway is of course easy accessible.
Here older buildings such as condo Waterford Park, offers old style, but play friendly grass lawns with baby pools to its family residents for very affordable prices, while at the opposite end, completely gated and luxury communities such as Soi Mu Ban Saen Siri, provides a luscious private park that stretches between enormous villas as a private oasis in the middle of busy buzzling Bangkok.
In between, several newer condominiums have popped up recently and with them, more restaurants and shops are coming as well.
The colourful area around W District mall provides an art gallery and an outdoor beer garden were creative people can be spotted to hang out. The Zeppelin roof top bar is another popular alternative for drinks with a magnificent view of the city. Some say the little Thai-French restaurant named Colour in the area has the best steak and sauce béarnaise in Bangkok.
